Atmospheric disturbance to bring more heavy rain

The Early Warning Centre of the Department of Meteorology says an?atmospheric disturbance in the Bay of Bengal to the southeast of Sri Lanka could result in cloudy skies and showery conditions during next few days, particularly in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Eastern and Uva provinces.

Heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places, (particularly in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, Southern and Uva provinces).

Due to the active cloudiness in the Southern sea areas, there is a possibility of heavy showers and a sudden roughness of the sea areas associated with the sudden increase of wind speeds (up to 70-80 kmph) over the sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Galle via Pottuvil and Hambantota. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe to contest at the Presidential polls

Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe announced that he will be contesting the upcoming Presidential election.?
