Swiss court refuses to jail alleged financiers of the LTTE

The Swiss Federal Criminal Court has given no prison terms to alleged financiers of the Sri Lankan Tamil separatist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE). Main suspect in murder of Karandeniya official arrested

The Police said that they had arrested the main suspect involved in the murder of the Deputy Chairman of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha. Investigations revealed the suspect was linked to an?underworld leader identified as ?Kosgoda Sujee?. The Deputy Chairman of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member Donald Sampath, was shot dead on June 8.
