President demands judicial process on CB bond scam

President Maithripala Sirisena today demanded that a judicial process be launched into the Central Bank bond scam.

The President, speaking at a rally in Maharagama today, said that an independent investigation must be held on the allegations.

“I have never spoken on the?bond scam before but now I am saying it must be investigated independently,” he said.

The President said that he will obtain legal advise on the report on the Central Bank bond controversy by the Parliament Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

He said that later he will call for an independent judicial process to investigate the scam and take appropriate action. (Colombo Gazette)
