Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne says new laws will be introduced where the chief prelates can remove a Buddhist monk who disrespects the robe. Police to probe Weliweriya clash

The police is to investigate the clashes which broke out in Weliweriya. Minister and Gampaha District parliamentarian Lasantha Alagiyawanna said the CID will investigate the incident while the police says the CCD will investigate.
