The Sri Lanka Foreign Service Association (SLFSA) has strongly condemned the attack on one of its members, Ibrahim Ansar, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia on 4th September 2016 at a restricted area of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The SLFSA notes with great concern that a diplomat, who is an internationally protected person, has been attacked in this manner while carrying out his duties.
The Association appreciates the swift action taken by the Government of Sri Lanka to condemn this attack and call for an investigation.
The SLFSA remains hopeful that the ongoing investigation would not only unravel the grave nature of the crime committed against the diplomat but will also bring to justice the perpetrators and any person or organisation and their networks that have planned and orchestrated this crime.
