Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa admitted to hospital

Former Economic Affairs Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who was arrested yesterday, was admitted to the Colombo National hospital today.

Rajapaksa was arrested yesterday over the alleged misappropriation of funds.

He was arrested after appearing before the police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID).

The former Minister was questioned over the misappropriation of Divineguma funds when he was a Minister.

He was later arrested and produced before court and remanded till August 1st. (Colombo Gazette)
