Over 20 injured in Jaffna accident

Over 20 people were injured following an accident in Kaithady, Jaffna, reports from the area said.
A bus travelling to Jaffna from Vavuniya and another bus travelling to Vavuniya from Jaffna met with the accident.
Reports said that both vehicles crashed head-on injuring 24 people, all passengers in both vehicles.
The injured were admitted to the Jaffna hospital for treatment.

Petitioners withdraw case against LG delimitation gazette

A group of petitioners withdrew a case filed against the Local Government (LG) delimitation gazette, Provincial Councils and?Local Government Minister Faiszer Musthapha told Parliament today. Meanwhile the Court of Appeal dissolved the case after the petitions were withdrawn.

Two vessels registered in Sri Lanka detained in Maldives

Two fishing vessels registered in Sri Lanka found in Maldivian waters have been seized by the?Maldives National Defence Force?(MNDF). MNDF?s Coast Guard unit said that the two vessels are registered to Sri Lanka, and had a crew of five individuals each,?raajje.mv reported.
