Special meeting held with President to discuss concerns over Salawa

A special meeting was held with President Maithripala Sirisena today to discuss the concerns in Salawa following the recent disaster.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, several Government Ministers and the opposition attended the meeting.

President Maithripala Sirisena instructed those who attended the meeting to ensure any shortcomings in Salawa are addressed soon.

He also appreciated the efforts of the authorities to offer relief to those affected by the fire and explosions at the Salawa army camp. (Colombo Gazette)
