Seventh death reported due to coronavirus

A 48 year- old male infected with COVID-19 died this evening, raising the total number of deaths due to the Coronavirus in Sri Lanka to 7. The Ministry of Health said that the patient had died while receiving treatment at the National institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda. Navy assists yacht with foreign couple off Galle

The Sri Lanka Navy said that it assisted a foreign couple stranded on a yacht anchored in the seas off Galle. The yacht was stranded due to a technical fault while sailing across the Southern seas. The Navy provided the couple with food and drinking water on a directive issued by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and the Commander of the Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul.
