Aravinda, Kumar among new cricket selectors

Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara has appointed a new National Cricket Selection Committee with immediate effect.

The appointment of the National Selection Committee was carried out by the Minister citing recent failures encountered by the National Team during?their Tours to New Zealand, India, Asia Cup in Bangladesh and the inconsistency of selection criteria.

The chairman of the newly appointed National Selection Committee is former Test great Aravinda De Silva while?Kumar Sangakkara?has been included as one of the selection members.

The other selectors are?RomeshKaluwitharana,?Lalith Kaluperuma and?Ranjith Madurasinghe. (Colombo Gazette)
