Case filed against chairman of the Peliyagoda Urban Council

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed a case against the?Chairman of the Peliyagoda Urban Council, Nihal Ananda Perera today.

The Commission said that the case was filed at the Colombo Fort Chief Magistrates’ Court over allegations that he misused his authority and allowed a private company to construct a storage facility near the Kelani river.

The Commission said that Ananda Perera had also failed to stop the destruction of a public toilet in Peliyagoda by a private company despite being aware of it or making attempts to recover the losses. (Colombo Gazette)
