Government insists no influence on NMRA to approve any vaccine

The Government today insisted that influence or pressure has not been exerted on the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) to approve any vaccine. Speaking to reporters today, ?Presidential Advisor Lalith Weeratunga said that the NMRA has been given the freedom to study and approve any vaccine. Vaccination to begin at six hospitals in and around Colombo

Arjuna tells Ranil will not accept Senior Vice Chairman post

Former Parliamentarian Arjuna Ranatunga has refused to accept the post of Senior Vice Chairman of the United National Party (UNP). Ranatunga has written to UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe saying the party has failed to draft a proposal to take the country forward. He says he was informed that he had been appointed Senior Vice Chairman of the United National Party. However, he informed Wickremesinghe that he has decided not to accept the post.
