Minister confirms joint opposition members set to cross

Housing Minister Sajith Premadasa confirmed that some joint opposition members are set to join the Government.

He said some of those who had worked against the Government and President Maithripala Sirisena have now realised the?joint opposition has no future.

As a result he says they are now in talks with the Government to extend support and will be given portfolios in the Government.

However Premadasa insisted that those joining the Government from the joint opposition are not doing so for Ministerial posts but to serve the country. (Colombo Gazette)

Number of missing in Meethotamulla revised to zero

The number of people missing?following the garbage dump landslide in?Meethotamulla has been revised to zero. Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili told the Colombo Gazette that since there was no clarity on how many are exactly missing the figure was revised to zero.
