Two more customs officers arrested over bribery case

Two more customs officers were arrested today in relation to?a bribery case over which three customs officers were arrested last October. Three customs officers were arrested in October?for soliciting a bribe in Panchikawatte. The?three officers had allegedly?taken Rs.125 million from a vehicle importer who imports and supplies buses and spare parts to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB). (Colombo Gazette)

Yoshitha Rajapaksa remanded further in money laundering case

Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was remanded further by the Kaduwela Magistrate today in connection to the money laundering case. Yoshitha Rajapaksa and four others were presented to court today and were ordered to be further remanded till March 10. (Colombo Gazette)

More Tamil refugees to return from India tomorrow

In the next batch of voluntary repatriation, 12 Sri Lankan refugees, living in various camps across the State, would be leaving for Colombo from Tiruchi tomorrow, The Hindu newspaper reported.
