Investigations into Avant Garde will continue

The investigations into the Avant Garde security company will continue following instructions issued by President Maithripala Sirisena.

Earlier this month the Magisterial inquiry into the floating armory of?Avant Garde had been terminated after the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) informed court that it will not continue?with the case on the advice of the Attorney General?s Department.

Last month the Galle Magistrate lifted a?travel ban imposed on former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa in relation to the Avant-Garde Security company?case.

The Magistrate?had imposed the travel ban after investigations had been launched over allegations involving the floating armoury registered with?Avant-Garde when Rajapaksa was the Defence Secretary. (Colombo Gazette)
