Man walking from Thalawakele to Colombo to support protest

A man has begun to walk from Thalawakele to Colombo to support the ongoing protest at Galle Face. The individual identified as Sasikumar began his walk yesterday (Tuesday) and is expected to reach Colombo later this week. He was greeted by residents and others in Thalawakele when he launched his walk. Through the walk, Sasikumar hopes to draw attention to the issues faced by the up-country Tamils as well. Breakdown in Immigration and Emigration computer system

Services have been affected as a result of a breakdown in the computer system of the Immigration and Emigration Department. The Department has appealed to the public not to visit its head office tomorrow (May 04) for non-essential services owing to the breakdown. Fort Magistrate?s Court issues order against MainaGoGama protest

The Fort Magistrate?s Court has issued a court order against the MainaGoGama protest. The court ordered that all structures, vehicle and other belongings of the protesters placed near Temple Trees in Colombo which are causing an obstruction to pedestrians be removed.
