President may dissolve Parliament tomorrow

President Maithripala Sirisena may dissolve Parliament tomorrow, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has told a group of Tamil politicians.

The Prime Minister has told the newly formed Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) that Parliament is expected to be dissolved tomorrow evening.

He had said that since the term of the current Government ended in April and since there is no agreement on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, the President will dissolve Parliament and declare elections. (Colombo Gazette)

Lawyer appears before TID on behalf of former AG Dappula

A lawyer appeared before the Terrorist Investigations Division (TID) on behalf of former Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera today. Dappula de Livera had made a controversial statement over the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks. The TID asked the former AG to appear today to record a statement over his comments.
