Maithripala, Pakistan army chief discuss ties

Pakistan?s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on President Maithripala Sirisena today at the Presidential Secretariat.

The Army Chief and President Sirisena discussed about the cooperation and collaboration between the two countries on issues pertaining to regional security.

They emphasized the importance of working with close cooperation to ensure mutual interests in security activities.

Secretary to the President P. B. Abeykoon, Secretary of Defence U. B. Basnayake and Army commander Lieutenant General Chrishantha de Silva were among those participated at this event. (Colombo Gazette)

Cops detain youth from Wattala for promoting LTTE on TikTok

The Police have arrested a youth for promoting the LTTE using the video-sharing social networking service TikTok. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that the youth was arrested in Wattala. He was arrested after the content was observed by the cyber patrol unit of the Police. Twenty-eight Sri Lankan returnees test positive for Covid

Another 28 Sri Lankan returnees have tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said today. The 28 were among 518 people who tested positive for the virus in Sri Lanka over a 24-hour period ending at 6am today. Officials said that tests found that 28 Sri Lankans who had returned to the country were infected.
