Mahinda fears LTTE may resume terror

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says there is a fear the LTTE may regroup and resume?terrorism in the country.

Rajapaksa recalled that the terrorist group which caused devastation in the country is now no more.

However he said that while there is joy over the defeat of the LTTE, there is also fear the LTTE may regroup and resume?terrorism.

“Let us hope such a situation does not arise and that the country can live in unity and co-existence,” he said.

Asked about the new Ministers who took oaths in the Government yesterday,?Rajapaksa said that more will take oaths as pressure piles?on the new Government. (Colombo Gazette)

US military notes China used predatory debt tactic on Sri Lanka

The United States military has said that China used predatory debt tactics on some countries, including Sri Lanka.
