Hidden explosives found in house garden

Explosives hidden inside plastic barrels were found from the garden of a house in Jaffna.

The police and the Special Task Force conducted a search operation in the garden of the house located in Urelu today.

The house owner had dug the earth in the garden to extend the house when he came across the plastic barrels.

He had then opened one barrel and found explosives concealed inside. The man had then informed the police.

A search operation was conducted in the garden today and the explosives were defused. (Colombo Gazette)

Cabinet approves key electricity sector reforms

The Cabinet has approved key electricity sector reforms, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said.
