TNA appoints committee

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has appointed a 15 member committee to decide on the preparations of the party for the Northern Elections.
The committee consists of members of the five political parties who are part of the alliance.
According to the TNA, the committee will decide on the TNA candidate for the Chief Minister post at the elections.
A discussion on forming a committee had taken place last evening (Thursday) between the coalition parties in the TNA.
The commitee will have three members each from the 5 coaliton members, the TNA said. (Colombo Gazette)

BASL insists no complaint by lawyer grilled by CID

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) says there has not been any complaint made by a female lawyer who was questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over an ongoing case.
