Heroin syndicate busted in Kottawa

The police busted a heroin syndicate operating in the Kottawa, Homagama and adjoining areas, the police media unit said today.
A special operation?launched?by the Kottawa police yesterday led to the breakthrough.
The police media unit said that one man who was arrested yesterday had revealed information about two others who transport heroin in the Maharagama, Kottawa, Pannipitiya, Athurugiriya and Padukka areas.
Further police investigations last evening led to the arrest of the two suspects and two motorbikes used by them to transport heroin were also?seized.
The police media unit said that heroin being transported by the two suspects was also found.
The police also later arrested another man in Kottawa for providing the heroin for the two men to deliver to their respective locations.
The police media unit said that another man from Colombo 14, who was transporting heroin to the Kottawa and Homagama areas in a three-wheeler was also arrested yesterday.
All the suspects have been detained and are being further questioned, the police said.
