Ravi slams cabinet reshuffle, says not what the people expected

United National Party (UNP) Assistant Leader Ravi Karunanayake says it would have been?better off not having a cabinet reshuffle after seeing the changes which took place today. Speaking to reporters the former Minister said that the cabinet reshuffle of a few UNP Ministers was not what the public expected. Karunanayake said that the cabinet reshuffle was a joke and an eyewash. He says the expectations of the public should have been taken into consideration and that should have been reflected

Individual shot dead inside a passenger bus in Mirijjawila

An individual was shot dead inside a passenger bus in Mirijjawila in Hambantota today, the Police said. The Police said that the gunmen had reportedly arrived in a car and carried out the shooting. (Colombo Gazette)

One missing, three rescued after car topples into canal

One person was reported missing and three others were rescued after the car they were travelling in toppled into a canal along the Badulla-Mahiyangana road today. According to the Police the car had lost control and toppled into the canal. People in the area had managed to rescue three people including a woman but one person was reported missing. A search operation had been launched to locate the missing person. (Colombo Gazette)
