Three Indian fishermen arrested, bottom trawler detained

Three Indian fishermen were arrested and a bottom trawler was detained for engaging in illegal fishing practices in Sri Lankan waters. The arrest was made by a Fast Attack Craft belonging to the Northern Naval Command yesterday, the Navy media unit said today. The Fast Attack Craft attached to the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol, arrested the Indian fishing poachers while they were practicing bottom trawling in Sri Lankan territorial waters, about 13 Nm northwest of the Kovilam Point.

PM asserts process to draft new Constitution cannot stop

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today asserted that the process to draft a new Constitution cannot stop.
