Two killed, 7 injured in accident

Two people were killed and seven others were injured following an accident between a car and a bus in Nawagamuwa this morning.

According to the police media unit, the private bus was transporting garment factory workers to Biyagama on the new Kandy road when it collided with a car.

The car was heading to Kaduwela from Malabe with four passengers.

Following the accident all four people in the car were admitted to hospital and two of them later succumbed to their injuries.

The victims were a 49 year old lady and the 29 year old driver. Another 17 year old girl and a 22 year old girl are receiving treatment in hospital.

The police also said that five passengers of the bus suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, in another accident also this morning two people were killed when a private bus collided with a van along the Kandy-Colombo road in Kegalle this morning.

The police said that another six people who were travelling in the bus were injured in the accident.?(Colombo Gazette)
