Abducted youth rescued

The 22 year old son of a businessman who was abducted in Vakarai has been rescued by the police following a special operation in the east last evening.

Police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana told the Colombo Gazette that the boy is in good health and unharmed.

He also said that four suspects have been arrested following the rescue operation in Serunuwara.

The boy was abducted for ransom last week and the family had been warned that the child will be killed if the police was informed about the abduction.

According to the police the abductors had earlier demanded Rs. 30 million as ransom to set the boy free.
