Contract train drivers who did not report to work to be fired

All?train drivers employed on a contract basis, who did not report to work today are to be fired.

The Department of Railways said that railway guards employed on contract basis will also suffer the same fate.

The Department of Railways has decided to consider train drivers and railway guards employed on?contract basis, who did not report to work today, as having vacated their posts.

The move follows a protest staged by railway unions today.

Probe underway over foreign drone found in Sri Lankan waters

An investigation is underway over the discovery of a foreign drone in Sri Lankan waters. The drone was discovered at sea in Trincomalee by fishermen and was brought ashore. The fishermen said that the drone was handed over to the Air Force. Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Media Spokesman, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage said that the drone was a foreign drone usually used in training operations.
