Office for Reparations Bill passed with amendments

Parliament today passed legislation to pay compensation to victims of the island’s brutal civil war, nearly a decade after the end of the conflict which claimed 100,000 lives. Three youth remanded over semi-nude photographs released after warning

Three youth who were arrested over semi-nude photographs taken on the Pidurangala rock and were in remand till today, were released after a severe warning. The Police had launched an investigation into the semi-nude photos appearing on social media, taken on the Pidurangala rock.
