Hemas Hospitals and Adora Cosmetic Centre Clinch Highest Number of Honours at GlobalHealth Sri Lanka Awards 2026

Hemas Hospitals and its specialist aesthetic arm, Adora Cosmetic Centre, emerged as the biggest winners at the GlobalHealth Sri Lanka Conference and Awards 2026, securing seven prestigious national awards, the highest number of awards won by any hospital group in Sri Lanka at this year's event. This achievement also made Adora Cosmetic Centre the most awarded cosmetic and aesthetic healthcare provider at the awards.

The GlobalHealth Sri Lanka Conference and Awards is an international healthcare recognition platform that celebrates excellence, innovation, patient care, clinical quality and leadership across the healthcare sector, recognising organisations that have demonstrated outstanding performance and service excellence.

Hemas Hospital Thalawathugoda, together with Adora Cosmetic Centre, received five national honours: Best Consultant-Led Derma Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Centre of the Year in Sri Lanka, Laser Clinic of the Year in Sri Lanka, Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Centre of the Year in Sri Lanka, Urology Service Provider of the Year in Sri Lanka, and Ambulatory Care Unit of the Year in Sri Lanka.

Hemas Hospital Wattala also received two prestigious honours. Adora Cosmetic Centre at Hemas Hospital Wattala was recognised as the Body Sculpting Clinic of the Year in Sri Lanka, while the hospital was honoured with the Corporate Wellness Program of the Year in Sri Lanka award.

EU provides emergency relief to flood victims in Sri Lanka

Following the devastating floods and landslides which have struck Sri Lanka over the last weeks, the European Commission gave ?160 000 (approximately LKR 29 million)?in humanitarian funding to bring emergency assistance to the communities affected by the recent floods. Cabinet approves reducing price of kerosene to Rs. 70

Cabinet today approved a proposal to reduce the price of kerosene to Rs 70?a liter. The Government had earlier decided to reduce the price of kerosene with effect from midnight today.
