Probe continues on death of US pilot in Colombo

The police are investigating the death of a US Air Force pilot whose body was discovered from a hotel room in Colombo last week. Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunesekare told Xinhua that the victim’s body was discovered last?Thursday night from a room of a five star hotel where he had checked in a day earlier. Police officers conducting the investigations revealed that hotel employees contacted the police after they grew suspicious as several calls to the victim’s room remain unanswered.

Musthapha appointed legal adviser to Maithri

Former State Minister and United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Faiszer Musthapha has been appointed as the legal adviser to President Maithripala Sirisena. Musthapha had extended support to Sirisena at the January 8 Presidential elections and was made a State Minister in the new Government. Howevere Musthapha later resigned from his post saying he wanted to focus on his legal career.
