Polonnaruwa District Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member Jagath Samarawickrama took oaths toady as a Member of Parliament. He took oaths to fill the seat made vacant following the death of Amarakeerthi Athukorala, who was killed in the Nittambuwa area on 9th of May. Petrol distribution to resume over next 2 days

Petrol distribution will resume over the next 2 days, Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera told Parliament today. He said that despite several appeals motorists continue to queue up near fuel stations for petrol. MPs seek hotel accommodation from Speaker

Some Members of Parliament (MP) have sought hotel accommodation from Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena owing to the fuel crisis. The Speaker told Parliament today that some MPs wanted to return home soon and required fuel. “Otherwise they asked me to book a hotel for them to stay here,” the Speaker said.
