Petrol distribution to resume over next 2 days

Petrol distribution will resume over the next 2 days, Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera told Parliament today.

He said that despite several appeals motorists continue to queue up near fuel stations for petrol.

The Minister said the Police had also been requested to advise motorists not to queue up near fuel stations for petrol.

However, he said that long queues were seen even today near fuel stations.

He said that payment has now been made to a ship carrying petrol and unloading was to begin today.

The Minister said it will take 2 days for petrol to be distributed to the fuel stations. (Colombo Gazette)
