Beedi leaves found floating at sea in Udappuwa

A group of RABS personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command, recovered a haul of beedi leaves floating in the sea in Udappuwa.

The beedi leaves was 1232.5 kg in weight and was packed in 35 parcels.

It is suspected that the consignment was part of a smuggling attempt from India. The beedi leaves were handed over to the Customs Sub Preventive office in Sinnapadu for further investigations.

President assures SLFP MPs Ravi will be out soon
