Airman killed in explosion

An airman attached to the Air force base in Anuradhapura, was killed this morning following a bomb explosion. Initial investigations revealed that he had triggered the bomb inside his room at his official residence in an apparent suicide attempt. The victim was identified as?S.T.S Sikuradipathi, a senior officer in the air force, the police said. Public warned of lightning

The department of meteorology has warned the public to take precautions to?minimize the damages caused by lightning activities which could accompany heavy rain today. It said that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces today. Showers may extend to the Puttalam and Kurunegala districts too.
