Airman killed in explosion

An airman attached to the Air force base in Anuradhapura, was killed this morning following a bomb explosion.
Initial investigations revealed that he had triggered the bomb inside his room at his official residence in an apparent suicide attempt.
The victim was identified as?S.T.S Sikuradipathi, a senior officer in the air force, the police said.
The 31 year old is a resident of Radawana and the police said that his body was found after an explosion was heard inside his room.
The motive for the apparent suicide is still not known. Investigations are underway. (Colombo Gazette)
