Udayanga rejects claims, says he is in Ukraine

Sri Lanka?s former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, has denied the ?allegations against him and claims he is in Ukraine. Weeratunga, who has been accused by the Government of giving arms to rebels in Ukraine,?has told the BBC Sinhala service that the allegations are false and that he is not under any investigation in Ukraine. Navy arrests 26 Indian fishermen for poaching

The navy says it had arrested 26 Indian fishermen and also seized three?Indian fishing trawlers for poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the seas North of Point Pedro. The arrested fishermen and trawlers were brought to the Kankasathurai harbour and handed?over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Kankasanthurai for onward action.
