Committee to report on progress of action plan on human rights

A committee is to be appointed to report on the progress of implementing the national action plan on human rights.

Cabinet spokesman Gayantha Karunatillake said that the?action plan prepared under the guidance of the cabinet of Ministers was presented by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.

Karunatillake told reporters today that a committee of officials will be appointed to report on the progress of the implementation of the action plan and an inter-minister meeting will be called up to review its progress. (Colombo Gazette)

Chinese Navy ship arrives in Colombo

A?Chinese Navy ship arrived in Colombo on a goodwill visit, the Sri Lanka Navy said.
