DIG Nalaka and Namal Kumara ordered to appear in court

Police DIG Nalaka de Silva and activist Namal Kumara have been ordered to appear in court on Monday over the case involving the alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and?former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate?s Court issued the order when the case was heard today.

Namal Kumara had alleged that the DIG revealed a plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and several other VVIPs.

Namal Kumara said the DIG had made the revelation in a telephone conversation between the two.?(Colombo Gazette)

Interim order against death sentence extended till 10 December

The Supreme Court (SC) today extended an interim order preventing the implementation of the death sentence till 10 December. The Supreme Court had in July issued an interim order till this month against the implementation of the death penalty.
