Four killed in suspected murder-suicide in Ampara

Four people, including two police officers, were killed in a suspected murder-suicide in Ampara. The Police said that a woman, her daughter and a policeman were shot dead. Another policeman had also committed suicide inside a Police Station. The Police suspected that the policeman who committed suicide had murdered the woman, her daughter and the other policeman before committing suicide. Further investigations are underway. President defends speaking in Sinhalese in Jaffna

Australia’s terrorism threat level raised to ‘probable’

Australia’s federal government, Monday, raised Australia’s National Terrorism Threat Level from “possible” to “probable”. A threat level of “probable”, under the current system, says there is a greater than fifty per cent chance of an onshore attack or attack planning in the next twelve months.
