Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka, Arun Hemachandra, met with the President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Gürsel Baran, on 28 October 2026 during his official visit to Türkiye.

The discussions centered on strengthening business-to-business engagement, promoting Sri Lankan exports, attracting Turkish investment and identifying opportunities for commercial partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.

The meeting provided an opportunity to explore avenues for deepening economic cooperation and expanding trade and investment linkages between Sri Lanka and Türkiye.

Most notably, the Deputy Minister requested the Chamber President to send a buyer and investor delegation to the Sri Lanka Expo 2027, to be held next January in Colombo.
