The Italian Table: An Evening of Italian Gastronomy at Cinnamon Bentota Beach – Signature Selection

Cinnamon Bentota Beach – Signature Selection will host an Italian dining event at its L’incontro restaurant on 17 October 2026, beginning at 6.30 pm.

The Italian Table will open with a sommelier masterclass led by Wellington Muromba. Guests will be introduced to a selection of drinks and learn about their origins, flavour profiles and the principles behind pairing them with food.

A five-course Italian dinner prepared by chef Chaminda Kumara will follow. Each course will have a selected pairing, combining the guided tasting with a full evening meal at the hotel’s restaurant.

Johan Aschan, area vice president for Sri Lanka resorts at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and general manager of Cinnamon Bentota Beach, described the event as part of the property’s dining programme. The hotel stands between the Bentota River and the Indian Ocean and is known for its Geoffrey Bawa-designed architecture.

Admission is advertised at LKR 32,000 nett per person. An event and stay package is priced at LKR 114,240 nett for two and includes premium accommodation on a half-board basis, together with VIP room amenities.

The package also advertises savings of 20% at Kurundu Wellness, 15% on watersports and 10% on food and beverages. The hotel says terms and conditions apply to the offer.

Muromba’s introductory session comes before the dinner, allowing guests to consider the pairings as the courses are served. The single-night format brings the restaurant’s chef and sommelier together around a menu created for the occasion, while the stay package offers visitors the option of spending the night at the Bentota property.
