Embassy of Sri Lanka in Qatar Joins the National Integrity Week 2026 Commemoration

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Doha, Qatar on 27 July 2026, joined all government institutions across Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Missions abroad in commemorating the commencement of the National Integrity Week 2026, observed from 27 to 31 July under the theme "A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka."

The staff organized a special gathering at the Embassy before opening of the Embassy to the public, followed by the oath taking and the address by the Ambassador on the importance of the commemoration.

The commemoration reaffirmed the Embassy's continued commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency and ethical conduct in the discharge of its duties in Qatar.

Health Ministry denies claims vaccines being sold locally

The Health Ministry has denied claims that coronavirus vaccines are being sold locally. According to the Health Ministry, any coronavirus vaccine sold in Sri Lanka is not an approved vaccine. Several people infected in Narahenpita and other parts of Colombo

Several people have been found to be infected in Narahenpita and other parts of Colombo. The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the COVID-19 Outbreak said that 73 people have been found to infected in Narahenpita. The 73 people were detected in Narahenpita over a 24-hour period ending at 6am today. Officials also said that 45 people were detected in Wellawatte, 51 in Avissawella, 43 in Dehiwala, 56 in Maharagama, 32 in Mount Lavinia, and 74 in Piliyandala during the same period.
