Sysco LABS Hosts Tech Liga 2026 Futsal Tournament

Sysco LABS recently hosted Tech Liga 2026, a futsal tournament aimed at fostering connection, collaboration, and camaraderie within Sri Lanka’s technology industry. Held at Club Fusion, the event brought together 14 teams representing 10 leading tech companies for a full day of competition.

The tournament followed a league-stage format, with teams divided into two groups competing across 42 matches before advancing to the semi-finals and finals. Sysco LABS Team A topped Group A with five wins and one draw, while Sysco LABS Team B dominated Group B with an unbeaten record across six matches.

In the semi-finals, London Stock Exchange Group B edged past Sysco LABS Team A with a 3-2 victory, while IFS A defeated Sysco LABS Team B 4-1 to secure their place in the final.

The final between IFS A and LSEG B ended 1-1 at full time, with IFS A emerging champions after a closely contested 5-4 penalty shootout victory.

Through initiatives such as Tech Liga, Sysco LABS continues to promote community engagement and collaboration within Sri Lanka’s growing technology ecosystem, highlighting the value of building meaningful connections beyond the workplace.

Cabinet approves proposal to import sheep for farming

Cabinet has approved a proposal to import sheep to improve farming, the Government said today. Sheep farming is done at farms of the National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) and private farms in the Northern and North-western provinces.
