The device provides instant voice confirmations for QR payment transactions, contributing to improved merchant convenience, transaction transparency, and broader digital adoption, particularly among SMEs.

The QR Sound Box eliminates the need for merchants to manually verify payments via mobile devices, providing instant audio confirmation of successful transactions.

Designed as a versatile payment device, it supports QR transactions and is equipped with built-in card acceptance capability, with card payment services to be introduced by CDB in line with its future provisions.

This innovation enhances transaction transparency, merchant confidence, and customer trust, while driving adoption of digital payments across cash-heavy environments such as markets, fairs, and pop-up stores.

Iranian arrested by the Navy in Silawathura

The Sri Lanka Navy says it detained an Iranian and two Sri Lankans on a dinghy, during a patrol carried out in the Silawathura sea area yesterday. A suspicious dinghy which was sailing in the seas off Silawathura had been observed by the Navy during an operation conducted to prevent illegal migrations and smuggling activities in Sri Lankan territorial waters. Prison guard killed, three injured as prison vehicle crashes

A prison guard was killed and three people sustained injuries after a prison vehicle met with an accident in Digampathana, Sigiriya. The Police said the prison van was transporting an inmate to court when it lost control and crashed into a tree. Three prison guards were in the vehicle and one was killed in the accident while the other two and the prisoner sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital.
