Monks launch anti-halal campaign

Monks attached to the Bodu Bala Sena today launched an anti-halal campaign, during a convention in Maharagama. A declaration adopted at the convention also sought a ban on birth control and sending Sri Lankan maids to the Middle East. Cops raid Katunayake DVD store

The police have raided a DVD store in Katunayake and?seized over 300 DVDs and Video CDs. According to the police media unit, the DVD store was raided following?information provided to the police. During the raid the police found pirated versions of 303 copyright protected DVDs and 81 VCDs with pornographic content.
