The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) successfully organised the Sri Lankan National Pavilion at Grüne Woche 2026, the world’s largest B2C trade fair for food, beverages, and agriculture, currently underway in Berlin, Germany.

Grüne Woche attracts more than 400,000 international visitors annually and serves as a premier global platform linking producers, traders, and consumers. Sri Lanka’s participation this year holds special significance as the exhibition marks its 100th anniversary.

The Sri Lankan National Pavilion featured a diverse range of premium products, including Ceylon Tea, Ceylon Cinnamon, coconut-based products, handicrafts, gems, and jewellery. These offerings received strong interest from international buyers and visitors, highlighting Sri Lanka’s growing appeal and competitiveness in global markets.

As the main organiser, AHK Sri Lanka noted that Grüne Woche provides a valuable entry point for Sri Lankan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking access to the EU and German markets. The exhibition enables exporters to engage directly with buyers, identify partnership opportunities, and gain insights into international consumer preferences.

Cinnamon Miracle Chairman Gihan De Silva said participation allowed the company to showcase the authenticity of Ceylon Cinnamon, adding that buyer interest from Germany and the EU was encouraging. Wild Rabbit CEO Indika Siriwardana highlighted the value of direct consumer engagement in understanding market expectations.

AHK Sri Lanka Head of Corporate Affairs and Export Promotion Malintha Gajanayake emphasised that consistent participation in trade fairs such as Grüne Woche strengthens product visibility, builds buyer confidence, and unlocks broader EU market opportunities.

The pavilion was visited by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Germany, Varuni Muthukumarana, along with officials from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin, who extended support to participating exporters.

AHK Sri Lanka reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Sri Lankan SMEs by facilitating market access, strengthening bilateral trade ties, and promoting Sri Lankan products on global platforms.
