Impact-Investing Expert Robert Webster to Lead Executive Immersion Program

Sri Lanka’s finance and investment sector is set to benefit from global expertise in impact investing with the arrival of renowned impact-investment fund manager and adviser Robert Webster, who will lead a two-day Impact-Investment Executive Immersion Program on February 9 and 10, 2026, at Shangri-La Colombo.

The program will serve as a strategic precursor to the Lanka Impact Investing Forum, the country’s flagship national platform for sustainable finance and impact-driven capital mobilisation, scheduled immediately after the immersion sessions.

Webster brings more than 20 years of experience across emerging and frontier markets, having led impact finance initiatives, blended finance solutions, and SME capital mobilisation efforts across Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. His expertise spans fund structuring, due diligence, impact strategy development, and deal execution.

The Executive Immersion Program is organised by the Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) in partnership with GSG Sri Lanka, with support from Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The initiative is implemented with the engagement of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) as part of broader efforts to strengthen inclusive and sustainable finance ecosystems in Sri Lanka.

Designed for senior professionals from commercial banks, investment firms, development finance institutions, and other financial intermediaries, the program aims to equip participants with practical tools to integrate social and environmental impact into investment decision-making.

“Impact investing presents a powerful opportunity to align capital with purpose,” the organisers said, noting that the program will feature curated learning sessions, interactive exercises, and peer collaboration tailored to the Sri Lankan context.

The two-day immersion will cover the principles of traditional and impact finance, impact measurement frameworks, real-world case studies, and practical approaches to embedding impact across institutional portfolios. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion in Impact Investing for Finance Professionals, jointly endorsed by LIIN and GSG Sri Lanka.

Participation will also prepare attendees to engage more meaningfully at the Lanka Impact Investing Forum, where global investors, development finance institutions, policymakers, and investment-ready enterprises will convene to explore new impact-investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
