Records destroyed in Sri Lankan prison riot

Important records of inmates of the main Sri Lankan prison in Colombo were destroyed during a riot on Tuesday, the government said. The Minister in charge of Sri Lankan prisons, Chandrasiri Gajadheera, told reporters on Wednesday that a special investigation has been launched into the prison riot. Suspect involved in Wilpattu bombing arrested

The police have arrested an LTTE suspect involved in the bombing of a vehicle inside the Wilpattu national park in 2006, the police media unit said today. According to the police, the suspect is a resident of Mannar and was involved in LTTE activities during the war.
