IMF’s First Deputy Managing Director gives Anura advise

The First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Gita Gopinath, advised President Anura Kumara Disanayake on the need for Sri Lanka to continue its economic reforms.

Gopinath, who is on a visit to Sri Lanka, met the President on Monday for talks.

“Pleasure meeting with President Anura Kumara Disanayake in Colombo today. We discussed Sri Lanka’s strong performance on economic reforms and the importance of maintaining momentum. Continued commitment to these reforms is vital for lasting stability and prosperity for all Sri Lankans,” she tweeted.

Gnanasara Thero transferred back to prison hospital

The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, the Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero has been transferred back to the prison hospital from the Sri Jayewardenepura hospital.
