Father and brother of tuition teacher from Gampaha arrested

The father and brother of a controversial tuition teacher from Gampaha have been arrested. They were arrested over the distribution of leaflets with some questions from the Advanced Level Chemistry paper, the Police said. Meanwhile the Education Ministry said that the?questions published in the leaflets were not leaked prior to the exam. (Colombo Gazette)

Fans protest at Dambulla stadium after Sri Lanka’s defeat

Angry fans protested at the Dambulla cricket stadium this evening after Sri Lanka continued its losing streak in cricket. Open invitation for SLFP members to attend party convention

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) says an open invitation has been extended for SLFP members to attend the party convention next month. The convention was scheduled to he held on September 2 but it will now be held on September 3, SLFP member and Minister S.B. Dissanayake said.
